Summary

Hitachi Europe S.A. is searching for a Site Service Engineer for its Proton Therapy project in Madrid.

The Site Service Engineer will be assigned to provide on-site service and maintenance of the Proton Therapy system as a part of Hitachi team, reporting to the Site Manager.

The Engineer must work in compliance with all laws and both external and internal regulations such as worker safety, radiation protection, technical and mechanical procedures, and facility protocols.  The role requires mechanical and/or electrical knowledge and relevant work experience.

Holding the CSN's license of industrial radiography, radiotherapy or similar field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor operation of the system and take actions to improve its performance

  • Perform equipment maintenance activities independently and collaboratively

  • Fulfill work orders and business procedures

  • Work in compliance with all regulatory standards

  • Adopt new technology, products and processes in daily operations

  • Respond to calls for service support promptly and communicate with the customer to ensure their satisfaction

  • Manage work schedule as well as spare parts usage to maximize effectiveness and minimize costs

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 3+ years of experience in:

  • Maintenance of electrical equipment or industrial plants.

  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control of electrical engineering.

  • Proven skill in reading and correctly interpreting various engineering documents (schematics, wiring, diagrams, piping diagrams, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of electronic test and measurement instruments (DVM, oscilloscope, micrometers, etc.)

  • Highly preferred: Certificate of qualified worker in electrical work (trabajador cualificado en los trabajos electricos) or similar.

  • Preferred: License issued by CSN (Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear) and/or certificate of Supervisor of Radioactive installation in the field of Radiotherapy (Supervisor de Instalaciones Radiactivas en el campo especifico de Radioterapia) or similar

  • Capable of working independently as well as a part of cross-functional team

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Flexibility in working hours and shift patterns

  • Familiarity with working in area of high-voltage, radiation and electromagnetic

  • Ability to perform manual-handling tasks and basic physical tasks such as climbing and moderate lifting.

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office, programming (preferred), and latest PC technology

  • Proficiency in English and Spanish
