What You'll Do (Your Impact & Responsibilities):

  • Spearhead DevOps Evolution: Lead the engineering effort to re-imagine and modernize the DevOps tooling, processes, and operational mindset for our mission-critical Apigee API Gateway.
  • Champion Site Reliability (SRE): Design, build, evolve, and automate the production operations of our API Gateways, embedding SRE principles to ensure exceptional availability, performance, and efficiency.
  • Global Collaboration & On-Call: Actively participate in a global on-call rotation (currently 1 week every 10 weeks, in a "follow the sun" model), collaborating with a talented international team to ensure 24/7 operational excellence.
  • Drive Strategic Alignment: Work proactively across diverse organizational boundaries (engineering, product, security) to champion and implement the enterprise-wide DevOps API Gateway Strategy.
  • Build and Innovate: Develop robust application software and automation tooling leveraging cloud-native architectures across a full stack of technologies.
  • Embrace Quality-First Development: Utilize test-driven development (TDD) methodologies to deliver high-quality, resilient, and maintainable technical solutions.

Skills Required:

  • To thrive in this role, you'll need a strong foundation in modern DevOps practices and cloud technologies:
  • DevOps & CI/CD Mastery (5+ Years): Proven experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub, Tekton, Jenkins), Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), and advanced deployment techniques (blue/green, canary releases).
  • Distributed Systems & Cloud Expertise (5+ Years): Deep understanding of REST API design, web service implementation, and experience with distributed architectures running on platforms like CloudRun, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Agile Champion: Demonstrable experience working within Agile methodologies and familiarity with tools like Jira, Rally, or similar.
