In modern slang, especially online, 'sipping tea' can also mean observing a situation without getting involved, often while enjoying gossip or drama. As a job, this is not a formal profession but may refer to influencers or content creators who review teas, host tea-tasting events, or create content around tea culture. These individuals often share their experiences with different teas and educate others about tea varieties, brewing methods, and etiquette.
