Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized testing and observational assessments.
- Create tailored treatment plans addressing immediate goals along with long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to craft comprehensive care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to enhance progress outside of clinical environments.
- Participate in occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the patient's journey.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational criteria.
- Engage in ongoing education and peer collaboration to stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Solid understanding of evidence-based treatment methodologies across all ages, with expertise in both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and collaborative care teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapy approaches to respect and meet diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
