Job description

Marine Service Estimator Opportunity Summary:
Provides support in the daily operations of both the parts and service departments. Key contributor in the estimating process for marine service. This position ensures smooth communication between customers, technicians, vendors, and management while maintaining accurate records, inventory control, and financial and personnel administration. The role provides direct support to the Branch Manager, Service Team, Parts Department, and Sales Department, helping to keep the facility organized, efficient, and customer focused.
Job Duties:
  • Processes, pulls, orders, receives and packages marine parts to fulfill customer and service department needs.
  • Assists marine service technicians in identifying and sourcing the necessary parts for repairs and maintenance.
  • Works closely with CEs and technicians to develop repair estimates with labor operations required to complete repair, reviewing warranty for any deductibles due.
  • Develops complete parts lists for repairs being performed using extensive marine product knowledge, various computer software programs and supplier catalogs, estimating requisition completion time with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Identifies sources for non-stock marine parts, using relationships developed with local suppliers and marine vendors, and determines price and availability of parts to be included on customer estimates.
  • Receives, inspects, stocks and tracks incoming marine parts.
  • Matches customer needs with W. W. Williams marine product and service offerings and recommends solutions, allowing Service Department to maximize customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.
  • Builds and maintain relationships with technicians, shop personnel, vendors, and the marine service sales team.
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support across Service and Parts departments as needed.
  • Assists with special projects and additional duties as assigned by management.

Work Experience and Qualifications:
  • Our ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2+ years of related experience and have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
