Job description

Devan Lowe Cadillac-Buick-GMC-Lincoln is recruiting for a Lube / Tire Technician at our Rainbow City, AL location. In this role, you will perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, tire balancing, tire replacements. Additionally, you will perform Multi-point inspections on all vehicles including but not limited to inspecting brakes, air filters, wipers, belts, hoses, fluid levels, evidence of any fluid leaks, and suspension components to ensure vehicles are safe, dependable, and running smoothly for our customers. You will work closely with a dedicated team to provide excellent customer service and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and service on vehicle including but not limited to: changing oil and filter, rotating tires, balancing tires, mounting tires, inspecting/changing cabin & engine air filters and wipers, inspecting tire wear, brakes, belts, hoses, suspension components, and testing and changing batteries
  • Utilize shop equipment including but not limited to automotive lifts, tire balancer, tire changer, brake lathe, and bulk oil system safely and in accordance with industry and factory guidelines in the servicing of vehicles
  • Utilize computer to find relevant info related to the servicing and repair of vehicles
  • Utilize the DMS computer to document findings of vehicle inspections as well as work done on vehicle
  • Communicate clearly with service advisors about services performed and any additional maintenance recommendations
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and work area while performing maintenance or repairs
  • Follow all shop policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules
  • Maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensure shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as emptying oil drain tanks, cleaning and housekeeping and other general functions
  • Keep accurate records of services provided and parts used
  • Use power tools, pneumatic tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Quick Service, Lube or Tire Technician preferred
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to operate related tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Have a positive attitude, be a self starter with a strong work ethic, and be receptive to coaching a feedback
  • Good written and verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects a required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to learn new technologies and all repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Able to operate a laptop computer as well as electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Have good personal hygiene, be dependable, punctual, reliable transportation, and able to work full time scheduled shifts
  • Uphold high ethical standards and follow all regulations with regard to safety and environmental protections
  • Unrestricted driver's license, clean driving record, acceptable basic background check and drug free
  • Must own own general tools (special / job specific tools and equipment provided by dealership)
