Job description

This role will be responsible to the C-130J Key Account Manager (KAM) and will report to the C-130J Lead Instructor for the provision of training, administrative and subject matter expertise support applicable to C-130J Pilot Initial Qualification courses, secondary upgrade courses and currency training, as well as liaise with other resident instructional staff in CAE and at 37SQN as required.

The C-130J Simulator PI is responsible for the preparation, delivery, assessment, maintenance and evaluation of training and assessment materials, including delivery of training in the classroom, and simulator as required. Additionally, the role contributes to Aviation Safety Management related to their training platform reporting to the Lead Instructor, as well as internal CAE business initiatives as directed by the LI.

Essential Criteria

1. Possess qualifications and experience necessary to be able to be authorised by the Commanding Officer of RAAF Central Flying School as a competent Simulator Pilot Instructor.

2. Hold, or ability to gain, a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or recognised equivalent experience.

3. Have a minimum of two (2) years Military Qualified Flying Instructor or Operational Flying Instructor experience in an aircrew training environment, or have a minimum of 1000 command hours on multi engine, multi crew and tactical transport aircraft C-27J, C-130J multi engine tactical transport or similar aircraft.

4. Have completed or ability to complete ground training segments of the C-130J Pilot Conversion Course.

5. Hold an Australian Citizenship and hold or be eligible to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Desirable Criteria

1. Have previous Military Qualified Flying Instructor or Operational Flying Instructor experience on the C-130J aircraft.

2. Hold, or have held, a Military Qualified Flying Instructor or Operational Flying Instructor Rating or civil equivalent with minimum 200 hours experience in airborne instruction and training roles.

3. Experience as a flight simulator instructor.
