Full-time

Posted 5 days ago

Job description

Imagine working at the forefront of innovation in fluid-flow technology, with over 1,400 colleagues across the globe, and contributing to a legacy of excellence that spans eight manufacturing facilities on four continents. Armstrong Fluid Technology is more than just a leader in our industry; we are a community of the brightest and most creative minds, driven by a shared mission to engineer the future and safeguard our planet.

As part of our team, you'll be immersed in an environment that fosters growth, creativity, and collaboration. Here, you'll have the opportunity to push boundaries, tackle exciting challenges, and develop cutting-edge solutions that promote energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Every day offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution to a more sustainable future, driving innovations that help lower global carbon footprints. Together, we're creating a legacy that goes beyond business-one that's changing the world for the better.

In this role, you will support commodity management across global regions by partnering with Sourcing and Engineering teams to build forward-looking cost models, align quotes with historical pricing, and minimize variance between actual purchase prices and budget targets. You will strengthen risk mitigation processes by incorporating electronic component lifecycle insights, market intelligence, and advanced analytics, ensuring robust supplier signals to guide commercial decisions. Regular sourcing reviews will be facilitated to drive cross-functional alignment, improve cost predictability, and enable business agility.

On the supplier side, you will manage sourced commodities by analyzing supplier quotations, monitoring market-driven cost imbalances, and tracking mitigation actions to maintain supply continuity. Collaboration with buyers, suppliers, logistics, and site planners will be critical to achieving quality and delivery targets while balancing total cost of ownership and working capital. Leveraging digital tools such as Pro-Purchaser. SiliconExpert, Infor LN, and Power BI, you will enable Bill of Materials (BOM) risk simulations, exception-based decision-making, and automation of reporting to drive continuous improvement in global procurement performance.

Key Accountabilities

Market Intelligence & Risk Monitoring

  • Collect and analyze supplier quotations, commodity pricing, market trends, tariffs, foreign exchange, and other cost drivers.
  • Analyze foreign exchange movements, regional cost differences, and geographic sourcing opportunities to identify and capture savings through currency and location arbitrage while considering tariffs, logistics, lead times, and supply risks.
  • Conduct market and cost analysis, develop should-cost models, and implement commodity price-indexing mechanisms by evaluating relevant market indices, raw material costs, labor, overhead, logistics, tariffs, and supplier margins to validate price adjustments, benchmark supplier pricing, and support negotiations and sourcing decisions.
  • Monitor component availability, lead times, allocation risks, lifecycle status, and market shortages.
  • Track end-of-life, product change, and last-time-buy notifications from manufacturers and authorized distributors.
  • Review bills of materials to identify single-source, obsolete, high-risk, or high-cost electronic components.
  • Support make-versus-buy evaluations and tariff-mitigation initiatives by analyzing total landed costs, supplier capabilities, country of origin, duty exposure, localization opportunities, and alternative sourcing options.

Performance Tracking & Data Analytics

  • Maintain the supplier bid list and manage RFQs for new product introductions and cost optimization.
  • Maintain commodity spend data, supplier information, pricing records, contracts, and sourcing documentation.
  • Track purchase price variance, cost savings, supplier performance, lead times, inventory levels, and supply risks.
  • Maintain commodity scorecards and track progress against cost, quality, delivery, and risk-reduction targets.
  • Monitor Supplier OTD, analysis of reason for the Actual vs target. Discuss OTD improvement plan and implement along with cross-functional teams.

Sourcing Strategy & Managerial Support

  • Support the Commodity Manager in developing and implementing commodity and sourcing strategies.
  • Provide analytical and administrative support to the Commodity Manager for supplier meetings, business reviews, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Conduct scenario-based cost modeling and "what-if" analyses to support the Commodity Manager during contract negotiations and annual strategy refreshes.
  • Support the negotiation, development, amendment, renewal, and ongoing management of supplier agreements, including pricing, payment terms, lead times, warranties, liabilities, and other commercial conditions.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of procurement policies and procedures, monitor compliance with approval requirements and sourcing processes, and maintain proper documentation to support internal controls.
  • Support technology and manufacturing footprint migration by coordinating sourcing activities, evaluating supplier capabilities and regional cost impacts, managing material transitions, and minimizing supply, quality, and delivery risks during implementation.
  • Prepare clear, data-driven presentations and present commodity performance, sourcing opportunities, cost savings, supply risks, and recommendations to management to support informed decision-making.
  • Representing sourcing team in value stream meetings and collaborating with different stakeholders for new product development.
  • Conduct VAVE workshops with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities.

Supplier Operations & Administration

  • Assist with supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance review activities.
  • Maintain supplier contract records, monitor obligations, expiry and renewal dates, track compliance, and escalate commercial, legal, or contractual risks to the Commodity Manager and Legal team.
  • Coordinate the review, approval, execution, and record management of NDAs and Master Supply Agreements with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Quality, and Logistics) to resolve supplier invoice discrepancies, payment delays, and administrative non-compliance issues
  • Support supplier onboarding and ongoing quality management by coordinating supplier quality audits, reviewing quality systems and certifications, monitoring supplier quality performance, and tracking non-conformance reports, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier, pricing, lead-time, sourcing, and material data in the ERP system, and update bills of materials by adding, removing, or revising components as required.

What We're Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should bring:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or commodity management support within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with component lifecycle databases (e.g., SiliconExpert).
  • Proven track record in cost breakdown modeling, tracking Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and identifying Bill of Materials (BOM) risks
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in automated reporting, dashboard creation, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel).
  • Familiarity with supplier onboarding processes, contract administration compliance, and tracking supplier scorecard KPIs.

Technical Skills

  • ERP Systems: SAP, Infor LN, Coupa, SAP Ariba, or equivalent procurement modules.
  • Component Lifecycle Databases: Silicon Expert, or similar electronic component risk-tracking software.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for dashboarding, data visualization, and reporting automation.
  • Strong Excel and data modeling skills, including pivot tables, advanced lookups, macros, and financial cost-breakdown formulas

Soft Skills

  • Strong Communication Skills - Ability to clearly convey plans, updates, and issues across global teams and suppliers.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management - Work effectively with cross-functional teams (buyers, logistics, Planners, production, finance) to drive alignment.
  • Analytical Mindset - Use data-driven insights to optimize supply plans and decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset - Seek opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
