About the role:

As a Simulator Software Development Engineer, you will Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, and sustainment of software applications and tools that promote Westinghouse simulator products and services. You will focus on building, modernizing, and integrating reusable simulator software capabilities that Experience making any architectural tradeoffs required to find software solutions.

You will report to the Manager of Simulator Solutions Engineering and be located at Cranberry, PA where you have the ability work in a hybrid capacity.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop simulator software applications, tools, and services used across SSE simulator products and projects.
  • Develop reusable, maintainable software components that support multiple simulator baselines, platforms, and customer applications.
  • Integrate software with simulator environments, including control system platforms, instructor stations, simulation engines, databases, and external interfaces.
  • Support simulator software modernization programs, including platform upgrades, refactoring legacy code, and ensuring new simulator capabilities.
  • Collaborate with simulator engineers, modeling engineers, technical leads, and project teams in the US and Spain to define software requirements and implementation approaches.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Typically, 2-5 years of relevant software development experience; level and scope adjusted based on candidate qualifications and role leveling.
  • Proficiency in objectoriented software development using languages such as C++, C#, Java, or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience with software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and memory management.
