JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Simulation Education provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and academic guidance for the design, delivery, and evaluation of simulation-based education within the Simulation Center. This role collaborates with faculty, clinical leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative simulation programs that enhance clinical skills, promote patient safety, and advance educational excellence across the institution.
The Manager is responsible for supervising simulation educators and support staff, ensuring effective use of simulation technologies, and aligning simulation activities with institutional goals and accreditation standards. This position oversees curriculum integration, instructional design, faculty development, and assessment methodologies to create high-quality learner experiences.
The Manager also monitors program outcomes, manages budgets and resources, and drives continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making. By fostering collaboration, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and promoting best practices in experiential learning, the Manager of Simulation Education plays a critical role in preparing healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required

    Bachelor's Degree in a related field

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development skills, with the ability to manage a multidisciplinary team operating across multiple activity tracks and shifting daily priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clear SOPs, executive-level summaries, client-facing emails, and internal staff directives.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and execute in a high-volume, high-stakes operational environment with tight, often-immovable deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare staffing models, clinical workflow design, room and resource utilization, and supply-chain operations in a hospital or academic medical center setting.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget development, variance analysis, vendor negotiation, and partnership with Financial Analyst staff on quoting and reconciliation.
  • Skilled at facilitating cross-functional meetings with clinical faculty, administrative leadership, finance, contracts, and external clients; able to surface and resolve competing priorities professionally.
  • Proven ability to enforce standard work and accountability - including holding team members to documented SOPs and addressing deviations directly and constructively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort using data (Excel pivots, dashboards) to drive operational decisions.
  • Ability to maintain composure, judgment, and discretion when handling sensitive personnel, faculty, or client matters.
  • Familiarity with electronic-signature platforms (DocuSign), calendaring and scheduling systems, REDCap or equivalent survey tools, and learning-environment platforms is preferred.
JOB DUTIES
  • Interacts with multiple departments and stakeholders to provide operational support for simulation courses. Develop, implement, and deliver various immersive multi-disciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Develop and oversee curricula implementation and yearly updates. Includes performance data tracking.
  • Manage personnel in regards to work expectation, attendance, and evaluations. Recruit and train new hires.
  • Assist with building courses, logistics, schedules, and data management.
  • Administrator level operation of learning management system - Education Management Solutions (EMS) Simulation IQ system.
  • Assists development of business plans for the simulation center.
  • Conducts financial processes including invoices and collections from multiple departments.
  • Liaison to assist faculty and staff with grant applications. Maintain processing of yearly documentation, revisions and renewals.
  • Maintain current and future accreditations to include; ACS-AEI and SAGES FLS, FES and FUSE. Compile and complete applications.
  • Oversight and/or performance of equipment maintenance and purchasing including simulators, robots and task trainers.
  • Manage and track supply inventory, ensure stock levels, and order items as necessary.
  • Maintain IACUC and other standards in the operations the ARC lab. Oversight of all IACUC protocols.
  • Assist faculty with preparing IRB protocols and supporting documentation.
  • Supports the strategic educational and research missions of the institution.
  • Technical proficiency with all aspects of simulation including high fidelity simulations, virtual reality simulation and task trainers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
