Job description

HGA is seeking a part-time Chemical Engineering Intern to support operations in Ruston, Louisiana. The Intern will provide support to the department, project managers, and engineers, gaining exposure to a wide variety of engineering tasks and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and/or collect required process information used in the development of deliverables on major projects
  • Research and prepare information required by process engineers or project managers during project execution
  • Assist in the development of equipment sizing specifications, P&ID/PFD drawings, and complex process simulation models
  • Assist in the development of pressure relief documentation for clients, including scenario identification, protected system sketches, required relief calculations, and PSV sizing
  • Assist in the preparation of other required process engineering documentation for projects as necessary
  • Participate in department meetings
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum Sophomore status toward completion of a BS degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects and achieve desired results
  • Proven self-motivation and initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in situations involving ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Must reside within a reasonable daily commuting distance of Ruston, Louisiana
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in core engineering and technology coursework
