Job description

About GoodLeap:
GoodLeap is a technology company delivering best-in-class financing and software products for sustainable solutions, from solar panels and batteries to energy-efficient HVAC, heat pumps, roofing, windows, and more. Over 1 million homeowners have benefited from our simple, fast, and frictionless technology that makes the adoption of these products more affordable, accessible, and easier to understand. Thousands of professionals deploying home efficiency and solar solutions rely on GoodLeap's proprietary, AI-powered applications and developer tools to drive more transparent customer communication, deeper business intelligence, and streamlined payment and operations. Our platform has led to more than $30 billion in financing for sustainable solutions since 2018.
GoodLeap is also proud to support our award-winning nonprofit, GivePower, which is building and deploying life-saving water and clean electricity systems, changing the lives of more than 1.6 million people across Africa, Asia, and South America.
The Credit Strategy and Decisioning Manager will manage execution and delivery of GoodLeap's underwriting policy and procedures. This role manages policy configuration content within the decision platform, monitors and enhances GoodLeap execution processes, and communicates feedback on quality checks and controls regularly to the leadership. This role will also support Capital Markets, Treasury, Credit Risk, Product, and Engineering to conduct feedback loops on policy changes against the business intent, and design and deliver pilots working with internal stakeholders and externally with vendors to continually improve performance of GoodLeap's financing products.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Translate credit and underwriting policies into decision platform and maintain accurate and complete documentation of active decisioning flows by API sources including tracking overrides, potential exceptions, and fallback logic.
  • Track how configured policy performs against intent and portfolio results through dashboards on approval rates, pull-through rates, override rates, and policy drift, and run periodic gap assessments to surface any undocumented decisioning nuances before they scale.
  • Brief senior leaders across Capital Markets, Credit Risk, Product, and Engineering on execution status, risks, and open decisions, tailoring the message so each audience understands the trade-offs shaping the decision flow.
  • Maintain a full version history and audit trail of every policy change to support back-testing and regulatory review. Own the change-approval workflows for launching or rolling back strategy changes and maintain the mapping from decision logic to customer communications.
  • Design, deliver, and validate A/B, champion/challenger, and shadow tests on policy changes ahead of production releases with stakeholders in Capital Markets, Product, and Engineering. Evaluate emerging credit and fraud vendor solutions and support pilot integrations that could generate asymmetric returns for GoodLeap.
  • Prioritize and sequence configuration change requests against engineering and product capacity to keep delivery of the strategy on schedule, exercising sound independent judgment on trade-offs with minimal day-to-day direction.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and focus on engineering quality processes, with the ability to trace details and catch discrepancies before they reach production
  • Skilled at building and maintaining monitoring dashboards and translating performance data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
  • Experience using with software such as SQL, Python, Databricks, Tableau, Claude/ChatGPT
  • Deep understanding of credit and underwriting policy and how configuration choices translate into borrower outcomes and portfolio risk
  • Strong sense of ownership over outcomes - from policy configuration through to portfolio performance with minimal need for oversight
  • High integrity and sound judgment - comfortable escalating and surfacing blind spots for leadership rather than smoothing them over
  • Working knowledge of loan decisioning engines including how policy rules interact with third-party data sources.
  • Strong program and project management skills; able to prioritize and sequence competing configuration change requests across engineering and product resourcing
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate complex trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences and tell a compelling story
  • Collaborative and effectively engage across a wide range of stakeholders - Capital Markets, Treasury, Product, Engineering and Credit Risk
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, comfortable owning documentation, version history, and audit trails and balancing execution speed with compliance and audit-readiness
  • Comfortable designing and interpreting A/B tests, champion/challenger frameworks, and other experimentation methods on policy changes
  • Ability to flex seamlessly between strategy and execution, and energized by a dynamic, fast-moving environment

$170,000 - $200,000 a year
In addition to the above salary, this role may be eligible for a bonus and equity.
