Job description

At Field Guide Lodge, the front desk is more than a desk. It is the heart of the guest experience. This team helps create the first impression, the lasting impression, and all the moments in between. We are looking for people who are warm, upbeat, attentive, and genuinely love hospitality.
This role is about making guests feel welcome the second they arrive and giving them a stay worth remembering. From check in to check out, the goal is simple: create an experience that feels easy, personal, and memorable. We want guests to feel less like customers and more like they have found their home away from home.
We are a boutique hotel, which means personality matters here. No stiff scripts. No corporate robot energy. Just real people taking care of people. The right person for this role is outgoing, sharp, calm under pressure, and able to work independently while still being a great teammate. If making someone's day better sounds like a good day at work, this could be a great fit.
We are currently hiring 2 or more team members, full time or part time. There is real room to grow here in a close knit boutique environment where people can learn fast and take on more. After 60 days, team members get flexible stay rates at other properties, discounted rooms for friends and family, and opportunities to travel and support sister properties during busy seasons.
Pay starts at $20 an hour
What you will do
Welcome guests with warmth and confidence, handle check ins and check outs, and help set the tone for a great stay
Answer calls, emails, and guest questions about bookings, rates, amenities, local recommendations, and special requests
Build real connections with guests and teammates
Keep guest accounts accurate and organized
Help solve problems and handle guest concerns with professionalism and heart
Work closely with housekeeping to make sure rooms are ready and the day runs smoothly
Stay active on property and jump in where needed. You should be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and being on your feet throughout the shift
Learn the business, grow your skills, and take ownership
What we are looking for
Someone friendly, dependable, and naturally hospitality driven
Someone who can stay cool in busy moments and handle people well
A strong communicator who is comfortable with phones, email, and guest interactions
Hotel experience is great, but related experience also counts
Food and beverage experience is a big plus. We love versatile people
A self starter who notices what needs to be done and gets it done
Someone who wants to grow, learn, and be part of a team for the long haul
Someone who truly cares about creating memorable experiences for guests
This is a great role for someone who wants more than just a job. If you want to work in a fun boutique hotel with live music, good people, room to grow, and a culture that values personality and heart, we would love to meet you.
