Job description

Senior Manager, Construction (Power Generation - Simple Cycle / Combined Cycle)
Building on our past. Ready for the future.
Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.
You step into a leadership role where construction execution meets strategic delivery. You operate at the intersection of technical excellence, commercial performance, and stakeholder alignment-bringing complex power generation projects to life with precision and accountability. This is not just about building facilities; it is about delivering outcomes that matter to our customers, communities, and the energy transition.
Purpose of the role
Play an integral role in leading the construction execution of simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects. You will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within or below budget, and in alignment with contractual obligations and customer expectations. You provide direction across multiple workstreams, establish clear delivery frameworks, and ensure that construction strategies translate into measurable results.
Core Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
  • Leading construction delivery for large-scale power generation projects, with a focus on simple cycle and combined cycle facilities
  • Developing and executing integrated construction plans aligned with project, commercial, and organizational priorities
  • Driving schedule adherence, cost control, and productivity across all construction phases
  • Interpreting contract terms and ensuring execution aligns with commercial and legal obligations
  • Providing strategic direction across multiple projects or a highly complex single project
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams, including direct and indirect reports, with accountability for performance, development, and outcomes
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Identifying risks and implementing proactive mitigation strategies to protect project delivery
  • Driving continuous improvement in construction systems, processes, and tools
  • Communicating complex project updates, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and clients with clarity and influence
  • Supporting organizational change initiatives and embedding best practices across project execution

What you'll bring to the role
  • Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in construction leadership, with a strong track record delivering power generation projects
  • Demonstrated expertise in simple cycle and/or combined cycle power plant construction-this is essential
  • Strong project management capability, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and contract execution
  • Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and influence outcomes across complex stakeholder environments
  • Deep understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and field execution in power projects
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contracts and align execution strategies accordingly
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop tactical and strategic solutions in dynamic environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information to senior leadership and customers
  • Experience implementing and improving systems, processes, and tools within construction environments
  • A collaborative, participative leadership style that fosters accountability, teamwork, and high performance
  • A degree in a related discipline or equivalent industry experience

Benefits
Feel the energy at Worley with access to a range of benefits including: paid-time off, holiday pay (usually 8 per year in the US), and eligibility to participate in the medical, life, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as 401K plan.
We are looking for someone who brings both technical depth and leadership maturity-someone who can translate strategy into execution and deliver results in complex, high-stakes environments. If you are ready to take ownership of major construction outcomes and make a measurable impact, this is your opportunity to step into a role with real influence.
