We build and execute culturally competent field programs that engage communities, move voters to action, and deliver measurable results.

Working closely with the National Field Director and company leadership, this position will ensure programs are executed on time, on budget, and at the highest quality standards while serving as the primary operational leader within their assigned state.
Remote work may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Preference will be given to candidates whose residence is in one of our program locations.
Relationship to the National Field Director
This position reports directly to the National Field Director and serves as the senior operational leader within an assigned state. State Directors are responsible for executing statewide strategy, managing staff and client relationships, and ensuring all programs are delivered according to Nuevo Field Campaigns' standards, while partnering closely with the National Field Director on overall strategy, resource allocation, and organizational priorities.

  • Participate in strategic planning discussions and provide recommendations based on field performance and voter contact data.
  • Deliver regular reports, presentations, and program updates to clients and company leadership.

Operations & Logistics

  • Manage field reporting systems, quality control, data collection, and compliance processes.
  • Coordinate closely with HR, payroll, compliance, and operations teams to support efficient program delivery.

Travel & On-Site Leadership
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned state to launch programs, train staff, conduct quality control, and resolve operational challenges.
  • Provide direct leadership during critical program periods including voter registration deadlines, early vote, ballot cure, and GOTV.
Qualifications
Required
  • 1-3 years of campaign, advocacy, labor, or community organizing experience.

  • Familiarity with VAN, PDI, Scale to Win, Mobilize, Slack, Google Workspace, and field reporting platforms.
  • Experience working with diverse and multilingual communities.
  • Previous experience with Democratic campaigns, labor organizations, advocacy groups, or issue campaigns.
What Success Looks Like
By November 2026, the State Director will have:
  • Successfully launched and managed multiple canvassers across their assigned state.
  • Built and retained high-performing organizing teams.
  • Consistently met or exceeded client goals, voter contact targets, and quality standards.
  • Served as a trusted leader for clients, staff, and community partners.
  • Contributed to winning campaigns and meaningful voter engagement efforts across key communities.
Compensation
Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility, and the geographic market in which the employee is based. Salaries may vary by location to reflect regional labor market conditions. Monthly compensation is expected to range from $6,500 to $7,500.
For contract-based candidates, compensation may be structured as a monthly retainer or project-based agreement, depending on experience and program responsibilities.
