Lead the identification, assessment and response to competitive threats and market opportunities across assigned markets and translate emerging intelligence into actionable recommendations that drive net gain growth.


How Youโ€™ll Make an Impact

Competitive Intelligence Landscape

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of competitive activity across assigned markets with focus on local competitive behaviors
  • Identify emerging threats from fiber overbuilders, wireless providers, municipal networks and other market entrants
  • Analyze competitive pricing, promotions, product launches, go-to-market strategies, product and service performance and network expansion plans
  • Utilize external data sources and establish mechanisms to capture local intelligence before it becomes widely visible, and provide custom reporting and presentations on competitive intelligence

Market Development Leadership

  • Build local relationships through the BDS team with industry associations, local builders, developers, county administrators and model agents
  • Establish a new build inventory by market area that identifies opportunities to accelerate Residential, Business and Community Solutions growth and create a consistent pipeline of growth opportunities for assigned markets
  • Coordinate with sales, developers, permit offices and utility companies to ensure early awareness of opportunities, proper planning and bids, proactive drop installation, joint trenching and pre-wire efforts in partnership with Field Operations

Market Leadership Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to RVPs and government affairs teams
  • Build trusted relationships across local teams to strengthen information flow and execution

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from accredited four-year college with major in Marketing, Management, Finance, Statistics or Economics

Experience

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in consulting, strategy, market development, business development or competitive intelligence
  • Experience working directly with field operations and local market leadership teams

Skills

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
    Strong competitive analysis and strategic planning capabilities and the ability to identify trends, patterns and emerging threats from multiple data sources
  • Ability to translate large amounts of information into concise and actionable executive recommendations
  • Strong financial and business acumen including investment prioritization analysis
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and drive constructive debate using facts and data
  • Deep understanding of the broadband telecommunications and connectivity landscape
