Job description

Stinger Bridge & Iron, an AISC certified structural steel fabricator and PCI certified precast concrete girder fabricator and erection contractor. Stinger focuses primarily on the Southwestern Bridge and Highway market, specializing in bridge projects. Stinger fabricates in its Coolidge, Arizona facility located south of the Phoenix/Chandler/Gilbert area and erects work in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. POSITION SCOPE:

Stinger Bridge & Iron is seeking Ironworkers positions that will specialize in establishing and installing steel or iron frames meant for the construction of a building and other structures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Read and follow blueprints, sketches, and other instructions
  • Unload and stack prefabricated iron and steel so that it can be lifted with slings
  • Signal crane operators who lift and position structural and reinforcing iron and steel
  • Use shears, rod-bending machines, torches, hand tools, and welding equipment to cut, bend, and weld the structural and reinforcing iron and steel
  • Align structural and reinforcing iron and steel vertically and horizontally, using tag lines, plumb bobs, lasers, and levels
  • Connect iron and steel with bolts, wire, or welds
  • Install metal decking

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or experience in the field
  • Ability to pass per-employment drug-test
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
