Apex Companies LLC is seeking a highly motivated W/WW Project Manager/Sr. Engineer with experience in leading civil engineering design projects and providing direction to civil design teams. This position would serve various public and private clients within existing portfolio and provide opportunities for highly motivated candidates to develop new client relationships. Our teams specialize in delivering multi-disciplinary projects that incorporate the full breadth of Apex services and strategic subconsultant partners. 

This role requires someone to be located in Oklahoma. 

Your Responsibilities as a Project Manager/Sr. Engineer:

  • Plan and administer small decentralized public water systems and waste water systems. 
  • Provide leadership in the design of efficient and constructable civil projects. 
  • Estimate and budget labor hours for design projects; review job costing reports and take corrective action, as necessary. 
  • Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction and ensure that client objectives are met. 
  • Mentor young design professionals. 
  • Participate in business development opportunities. 
  • Participate in professional organizations and functions 
  • Manage cumulative project total $400K annually and achieve profitability goals.
  • Develop $300K in new project work annually.
  • Write and review technical reports and proposals.
  • Prepare and deliver marketing presentations.
  • Hire and manage subcontractors.
  • Mentor and train scientific staff and ensure quality work product.
  • Ensure safe performance of project work.

What we're looking for:

  • 10+ years' experience as a consulting engineer providing permitting, design and construction of water and wastewater system projects. 
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering and an Oklahoma P.E 
  • A solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions / constraints. 
  • A proven history of meeting project timelines and budgets. 
  • Ability to develop creative engineering solutions to address project constraints 
  • Developing relationships with clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management. 
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD
