Own the Future of Surveying: Survey Project Manager at CEC

You'll be the go-to technical guru and helps mentor our existing office and field teams. Think of this as your chance to help  level up the entire Chicago surveying group, from expanding our client base to building our tech stack and capabilities.

You'll be working under a senior professional land surveyor who has a Large National Presence in the Land Surveying/Geospatial Industry.  This mentorship is invaluable to the next up and coming Land Surveying Professional, that wishes to grow their career exponentially on a personal and national level here at CEC.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Tech & Quality Champion: Be the final word on technical excellence. You'll ensure our work is top-tier by running Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), setting the gold standard for office and field procedures,
  • Mentor & Team Builder: Help our talented staff grow their careers through hands-on mentoring and training. You'll also be key in recruiting the next generation of all-star surveyors.
  • Project Leadership: Take the reins on exciting projects from start to finish. This includes crafting proposals, keeping project budgets on track, and managing the finances.

The Tools You Bring:

  • You're an Expert: You have 8+ years of real-world surveying experience under your belt.
  • The Credentials: You're a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or you have your S.I.T. and are on the fast track to getting licensed.
  • Tech-Forward: You don't just know the basics-you're fluent in the latest surveying technology, principles, and techniques.
  • Business Savvy: You've got experience managing the full lifecycle of a project, from the initial bid to the final invoice.
  • Influence & Growth: You're a natural leader who can mentor a team, and you're ready to use your marketing and networking skills to help our practice expand.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of professional surveying experience;
  • Professional Land Surveyor registration (PLS) or ability to obtain licensure with having S.I.T.;
  • Knowledge of technological advances, principles, techniques and practices of land surveying; 
  • Experience with survey project management; including preparation of proposals, tracking project budgets, and billing review;
  • Ability to speak and write professionally;
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to staff in the survey practice;
  • Ability to assist in growth of survey practice using marketing and networking techniques.

The posting range for this position is between $84,456 - $154,494 based on experience and location (in addition, CEC offers overtime pay and other great benefits).
