We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our child and adolescent psychiatry team at the Health Disorder Mental and Counseling Center, located in Clay, New York. This role focuses on providing high-quality mental health services to children and adolescents in a remote outpatient setting. Work Environment

In this full-time remote position, you will be part of a dynamic team environment, working from home while engaging regularly with colleagues via virtual meetings and consultations. Our community health clinic operates from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient requirements. You will have the flexibility to manage your schedule while ensuring continuity of care for your clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to determine the needs and circumstances of children and adolescents seeking support.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that incorporate best practices suited to the developmental stages and family dynamics of young individuals.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to effectively address mental health issues.
  • Provide engaging family therapy sessions aimed at strengthening the support systems surrounding young patient populations.
  • Work collaboratively with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, holistic care.
  • Respond to and manage crises during mental health emergencies, providing immediate support and resources as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, therapeutic options, and available community resources to enhance understanding and engagement in treatment.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of all client interactions in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Participate actively in case discussions, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities to remain current with advances in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves children and adolescents grappling with various mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and behavioral disorders. You will work closely with families to understand the context of these challenges, providing ongoing support that empowers both the young patients and their caregivers.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Relevant licensure within the state of New York, including Licensed Clinical Social Worker - R Privilege (LCSW-R), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or an equivalent qualification.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working directly with child and adolescent populations in a mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both individual and family therapy techniques specific to younger populations.
  • Strong background in the latest evidence-based treatment approaches relevant to child and adolescent mental health.
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems for patient documentation and case management.
