PLEASE NOTE: Sign industry experience is preferred; willingness to occasionally assist sign makers with basic sign assembly or installation is a must.
Horizon Sign Company is looking for an experienced Sign Designer/Graphic Designer to join our team. The Sign Designer is a professional, solution-oriented individual who pays attention to detail, works well in a fast-paced team environment, and can efficiently manage many projects at once. We are looking for a positive individual with a growth mindset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design signs, vehicle wraps and graphics, menu boards, banners, and numerous other types of signs & graphics, with a focus on color management and brand guideline accuracy.
  • Create mockups and scale drawings for clients, government permits, fabricators, etc.
  • Photograph locations for creating mockups for client estimates.
  • Take and edit photos of finished products for use in marketing materials.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Consult with clients to understand and deliver on their vision.
  • Administrative assistance, including answering phones, emails, and online queries.
  • Develop and post marketing and social media assets.
  • Accurately track electronic and paper records related to design jobs.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, support departments, suppliers, etc.
  • Learn new technologies and skills for continuous self-improvement.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Design creativity
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, CorelDraw, Word, Excel, Outlook software proficient
  • Ability to accurately uphold our client's brand guidelines, including color management (PMS, CMYK)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to work well under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
  • Ability to understand and effectively utilize order management systems, Trello job boards, social media platforms, etc.
  • Able to sit and view a computer screen for long periods
  • Able to physically assist sign makers with transportation and installation of signs
  • Prior sign industry experience is not required, but is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to learn the technical aspects of a prior employer's business
  • Prior experience in designing for a manufacturer is a plus

JOB TYPE:
  • Position: Full-time (8 hours per day, Monday through Friday)
  • Pay: Hourly pay (commensurate with experience)
  • Benefits: Health insurance, paid vacation, paid personal days
  • Work Location: Office in Brentwood. Installations throughout the Greater St. Louis area.
  • Typical hours: 8am to 5pm
