Production Supervisor

Description

A Production Supervisor II at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Production team supporting efforts to ensure smooth and efficient operations of all production processes while ensuring team member safety and product quality. This position involves managing production processes, developing team member schedules, and tracking incoming and outgoing products and is ideal for someone who is highly organized, meticulous, and a good communicator.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Production Management and Efficiency:
    • Manage productions to achieve optimum recoveries and labor goals.
    • Refine process efficiencies to lower the cost of production while maintaining product specifications.
    • Manage fresh and frozen inventory and ensure APC records are accurate and up to date.
    • Monitor and report daily product recoveries.
  2. Team Leadership and Communication:
    • Manage production team metrics through manpower assessments.
    • Ensure all areas of production are covered and communicate with team members and leads.
    • Assist with vacation schedule planning.
    • Attend and/or lead team meetings and facilitate team activities.
  3. Administrative Duties and Development
    • Track incoming and outgoing products using the AS400 system.
    • Perform daily morning inventory and frequent quality checks.
    • Assist with forecasting processing needs while developing and implementing shift assignments.
  4. Safety Advocacy and Compliance
    • Maintain team member safety, while acting as an advocate for all safety programs.
    • Report safety issues to the maintenance manager or operations management in an urgent manner.
    • Ensure proper icing and rotation of all fresh products.
    • Ensure all products are labeled correctly, clean, stacked, and stored properly.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

Education and Experience
  • Required
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Minimum eight years of related experience and/or training
  • Preferred
    • Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, and APC
    • Experience with HACCP, SSOP, and COOL Act
    • Knowledge of Word, Excel, AS400 and APC

Physical Requirements

  • Must be available to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Capable of training in using specialized tools and equipment pertinent to operations.
  • Capable of solving simple math equations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
