Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $18–$24/hour, based on experience
Pay Schedule: Weekly

About the Position

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Production & Installation Technician to join our sign and graphics shop.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys making things, working with tools and equipment, solving problems, and seeing a project go from an idea to a finished product.

Previous sign-shop experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person. We are more interested in finding someone who is mechanically inclined, pays close attention to detail, takes pride in their work, and is interested in learning new skills.

The position includes a combination of in-shop production and on-site installation, so no two days are necessarily the same.

What You'll Do

Depending on the day's projects, responsibilities may include:

• Produce and assemble signs, graphics, displays and other custom products
• Measure, cut, drill, mount and finish a variety of materials
• Apply vinyl lettering and printed graphics to signs and other surfaces
• Prepare materials and completed jobs for installation
• Assist with interior and exterior sign installations
• Use hand and power tools safely and accurately
• Read measurements, work orders and basic production drawings
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality
• Package and prepare completed jobs for customer pickup or delivery
• Load and unload materials and installation equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe production area
• Help track materials and communicate inventory or supply needs
• Work with other members of the production and design team to keep jobs moving and meet deadlines

Equipment & Skills You Can Learn

For someone interested in expanding their skills, there will be opportunities to learn how to operate equipment used in modern sign and graphics production, including:

• Wide-format printers
• UV flatbed printing equipment
• Laser engraver/cutter
• Vinyl cutters/plotters
• Laminators
• Heat presses and other specialty production equipment
• Various hand and power tools

Previous experience with any of this equipment is a plus, but we do not expect applicants to already know everything.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• Basic computer skills
• Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on production work
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing approximately 50 lbs.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings or blueprints.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors depending on the installation

Experience That Is a Plus

Experience in any of the following is helpful, but not required:

• Sign production or installation
• Wide-format printing
• Vinyl graphics or vinyl application
• Laser engraving or cutting
• Carpentry or woodworking
• Construction or installation work
• Manufacturing or fabrication
• Painting or finishing
• CNC or other computer-controlled equipment
• Automotive or mechanical work
• Graphic design
