Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Technical Project Manager at Siemens Energy, you will take ownership of the technical execution and integration of large-scale HVDC and high-voltage EPC projects. Acting as the technical backbone of the project delivery team, you will bridge engineering, project management, suppliers, and customers to ensure that technical solutions are robust, compliant, cost-effective, and deliverable. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, Contracts, Risk & Opportunity, and site teams, you will guide technical decision-making from early definition through detailed engineering, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning. You will be a trusted technical authority within the project, enabling informed risk management, supporting commercial outcomes, and ensuring technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and a proactive mindset, combined with deep technical understanding of power transmission and HVDC systems. The role will be based in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA working closely with the rest of the HV Project Management team.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Own and coordinate end-to-end technical execution of large-scale HVDC and high-voltage EPC projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery aligned with contractual commitments
  • Lead cross-functional engineering activities, managing complex technical interfaces across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning
  • Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities, driving mitigation strategies and enabling informed decision-making through structured analysis
  • Direct the full technical project lifecycle, from early-stage scoping and planning through execution, commissioning, and project closeout
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, governance processes, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations, while championing EHS and quality excellence
  • Partner with customers and key stakeholders, clarifying technical requirements, leading discussions, and ensuring alignment on scope, performance, and delivery

What You Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent technical experience)
  • 5 or more years of relevant industry experience with a strong understanding of power transmission systems, HVDC technology, and complex EPC project environments. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa
  • Proven experience in engineering and/or technical project management, ideally within energy, HVDC, or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Solid project management capability; PM certification (e.g., PMP, IPMA, PM@Siemens) considered an advantage
  • Strong awareness of health, safety, and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to embed these principles into technical decision-making
  • Ability and willingness to be based on-site in Raleigh, NC, working within a high-performing and collaborative team
Travel, as needed (~15-20%).
