General Summary

This full-time position involves covering end loader and side loader routes when delivery drivers are off. When not covering a route, youโ€™ll train alongside delivery drivers to learn procedures at all accounts. With a Monday through Friday schedule, youโ€™ll be home daily, and the short haul driving means no Electronic Logging Device (ELD) is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Flexible route start times determined by account service windows.
  • Delivering on 38-45โ€™ combination end loader trailers with lift gate โ€“ All package beer is sequenced and palletized by account in trailers. Driver is responsible for offloading pallets at accounts, verifying order with account, stock coolers and windows, merchandise, rotate product by code dates, and face product on displays, hot shelves, cooler, cold boxes, and back-room stock.
  • Delivering on 16-18 bay combination side loaders โ€“ All package beer and kegs loaded in trailer bays. Driver is responsible for offloading cases and kegs onto carts or hand truck, stock coolers and windows, rotate package beer and kegs by code dates when delivering at accounts.
  • Deliver to all accounts on truck in a safe manner and within the accountโ€™s service windows.
  • Repeated handling of cases weighing 25-50 lbs. and maneuver up to 165 lbs. when handling keg products.
  • Utilize lift gate, hand truck, carts, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack cases and kegs of varying size and weight throughout the shift.
  • Properly invoicing of orders, and collecting payment for all delivered invoices (no cash accepted)
  • Returning from route - unload damaged goods, customer returns, complete necessary paperwork, and synchronize handheld. Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • All drivers are required to provide exceptional customer service and present themselves in a professional manner.
  • Operating delivery equipment in a safe manner aligned with company safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Experience:
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must have a valid med card and Virginia CDL-A license.
  • Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record in compliance with company and DOT requirements.
  • Must be able to lift products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and maneuver up to 165 lbs. when handling keg products.
  • This position must pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test.
  • This position must pass a post-offer criminal and MVR background and drug test.
