Job description

SUMMARY

In support of the university’s mission and objectives, the Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation for students and employees between campus and satellite parking locations, utilizing 15-passenger shuttle bus or other passenger vehicles. This role is integral to enforcing PBA’s Parking Policies and Procedures through citation issuance and educational outreach.

Passenger Transport 
  • Safely transport students and employees between campus and satellite parking locations using a 15-passenger shuttle bus or similar vehicle.  Maintains a clean and professional appearance of the shuttle by inspecting and removing debris before and after each shift.  
  • Ensures reliable, efficient service while prioritizing passenger safety and adhering to university transportation policies. 
 Traffic Control and Event Assistance 
  • Issues parking citations for those in violation of PBA parking rules and regulations.  
  • Provides traffic control, direction and assistance during special events.  
  • Other special duties as assigned. 
EDUCATION

High school diploma, required. Valid Florida Driver’s License required. Valid Florida Driver’s License must be maintained throughout employment. Class C CDL or chauffer license preferred. 

EXPERIENCE

1+ years of shuttle or bus driving experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work non-routine hours during certain times of the year. 
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Ability to lift/move objects up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to operate equipment, AED, fire extinguishers, golf carts, patrol vehicles and other essential public safety related equipment as required.  
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or wind.Â
