Job Description: Wichita, KS
The purpose of the Shuttle Driver Trainee-DOT is to train to perform pickup and delivery of daily routes to domicile drivers and return empty trailers for reloading back to the warehouse.
• Train to perform as a safe and courteous shuttle driver and demonstrate BEK principles during interactions with the public and customers. • Maintain cleanliness of tractors/trailers used during the shift to ensure the upkeep and overall condition of equipment. • Always adhere to all FMCSA laws and regulations to demonstrate compliance. • Ensure trailers and tractors are adequately fueled and fuel levels are consistently maintained on equipment used at the warehouse or shuttle site. • Occasionally complete deliveries to customers to/from the warehouse or shuttle site as needed.
Job Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) Preferred • At least 6 months of DOT driving experience required • Valid Class A CDL with Doubles endorsement • Knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations required • Ability to read and interpret rules/guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions • Good computer skills • Ability to learn internal applications i.e.... On-Board Computer and Proof of Delivery equipment • Able to work outside in extreme temperatures (cold and hot) • Ability to follow instructions and take direction • Must be able to lift and move dolly tongue and cases weighing up to 90 pounds occasionally
