Job description

Bus Driver

Under the direction of the Director of Transportation or designee, drive assigned vehicles to transport students in compliance with safety regulations prescribed by law. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

Bus Driver: Education/Certification/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; any combination of training and experience in the transportation industry. Licenses and other Requirements: Valid California Driver's License, Class B with "P" and School Bus "S" endorsements Valid California School Bus Driver's Certificate No vehicle type restrictions Valid medical certificate issued by a District approved physician Subject to random drug testing in accordance with Federal Regulations First Aid and CPR Certificates or pass exam given by the Highway Patrol Driving record acceptable to the District's insurance carrier Complete background investigation as required by the California Highway Patrol Desired Qualification: Public school fleet driving experience.

START DATE: This position is to begin the AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. However, a start date is contingent on fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice. Fingerprints will be taken at the time the position is accepted. Applicant is responsible for the required fingerprinting fee. (amount of fee varies) Payment is due at the time of service. Cash is not accepted. Fingerprint clearance does not pertain to current employees of the Chaffey District. The District provides a group health insurance program, including paid prescriptions and a dental plan, to part-time employees who elect coverage. District participation in the cost of coverage is prorated based on a bus driver's quarterly average and may result in full coverage.
