Job description

About the Role

Phiston Technologies is a leading manufacturer of high-security data destruction equipment — shredders, disintegrators, and degaussers used to permanently destroy sensitive data-bearing devices. We're looking for a hands-on Mobile Shredding Technician to join our Virginia team supporting on-site destruction services for our clients.

This role rides along on the shredding trucks, operates our destruction equipment on-site, and keeps the machines running smoothly in the field. You'll be the person clients see doing the work — professional, reliable, and comfortable getting hands-on with mechanical equipment.

What You'll Do

  • Travel to client sites as part of a mobile shredding crew
  • Operate hard drive shredders and destruction equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, part changes, and routine maintenance on shredding equipment in the field
  • Prep trucks and equipment before each shredding event — loading, staging, and moving devices and materials
  • Follow chain-of-custody procedures for all devices processed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment on client premises
  • Communicate clearly with clients and team leads about job status and any equipment issues

What We're Looking For

  • Mechanical aptitude — comfortable with hands-on repair, part swaps, and basic troubleshooting
  • This is a physically active role: expect regular lifting (up to 50+ lbs), standing, bending, and loading/unloading equipment throughout the day
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varying conditions as part of on-site service events
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional — you'll be representing Phiston at client sites

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with shredding, destruction, or industrial equipment
  • Experience in field service, logistics, or mobile operations
  • Familiarity with chain-of-custody or data security procedures (NAID AAA)

Why Phiston

Join a growing, established manufacturer trusted by major companies for secure data destruction. Competitive pay, steady schedule, and a team that values reliability and craftsmanship.
