Job description

Position Title: Shopify Front-End Developer
Reporting to: President - Sports Group
Status: Exempt
Job Purpose: For nearly a century, Escalade Sports has been a leader in the sports and outdoor recreation industries, building world-class brands that bring families and communities together through play. Because our digital storefronts play a critical role in the consumer journey, we are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking Shopify Web Developer to elevate our digital presence and drive the technical evolution of our brand portfolio.
In this role, you will bring our brands to life across a diverse commerce ecosystem, including:

  • Goalrilla.com and goalsetter.com
  • Swingsets.com and ravesports.com
  • Onixpickleball.com and stigaus.com
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop, customize, and maintain responsive, mobile-first Shopify storefronts across 9 brand sites.
  • Update brand sites to Shopify 2.0 Theme’s
  • Write custom Liquid templates, sections, and blocks. Implement modern JavaScript/CSS animations and interactive elements to elevate digital brand experience
  • Build, test, and deploy front-end features, landing pages, and A/B test variations designed to improve user engagement and conversion rates
  • Optimize web assets and audit front-end code to ensure maximum page-load speeds, excellent Core Web Vitals, and strong SEO, GEO and AEO foundations
  • Lead innovation by staying ahead of UI/UX trends and proactively recommending improvements to our tech stack and processes
  • Works closely with internal IT Team and external partners to ensure functionality
  • Works closely with Brand and Creative Teams to enhance customer experience
Qualifications amp; Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional front-end web development experience, with a proven track record of building and customizing Shopify storefronts
  • Experience in HTML5, CSS3/SAAS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Strong proficiency in Liquid and schema architecture
  • Familiarity with GitHub and Shopify CLI for proper deployment
  • Solid understanding of responsive web design practices and mobile-first development paradigms
  • Familiarity with performance optimization, accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA), and cross-browser compatibility
  • Experience with GA4 and GTM.
  • A keen eye for design aesthetics, excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating live Shopify web pages, interactive front-end components, and responsive layout implementations
