Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Paid Media Manager based in Netherlands.

This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of paid acquisition strategy and performance for a growing global ecommerce business.
You will lead the evolution of paid media operations, managing external partners while building a scalable in-house growth engine.
The position combines strategic leadership, hands-on campaign optimization, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will influence revenue growth by improving acquisition efficiency, expanding paid channels, and creating data-driven marketing strategies.
Working closely with creative, merchandising, lifecycle marketing, and sales teams, you will shape how paid media contributes to long-term business growth.
This is an impactful opportunity for a performance marketing expert who thrives in an ownership-driven, remote, and fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities

The Paid Media Manager will own the overall paid acquisition strategy, ensuring campaigns deliver measurable business impact while continuously improving efficiency and scalability. This role requires strong channel expertise, agency leadership capabilities, and the ability to translate business goals into actionable growth initiatives.

  • Own paid media strategy and performance across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and future paid acquisition channels.
  • Manage and guide external paid media agencies, setting expectations, reviewing performance, challenging recommendations, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Define campaign goals, KPIs, budget allocation, and optimization strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Develop a roadmap to transition paid media capabilities from agency-led execution toward a stronger internal operating model.
  • Personally optimize and execute campaigns when appropriate while establishing scalable processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Lead Google Ads performance across Search, Shopping, Performance Max, YouTube, and SKU-level campaigns while ensuring strong conversion tracking and landing page alignment.
  • Manage Meta Ads strategies across prospecting, retargeting, product launches, and promotional campaigns.
  • Partner with creative teams to guide ad concepts, testing strategies, messaging, and performance improvements.
  • Explore and test additional paid channels, including Reddit, LinkedIn, affiliate partnerships, influencer campaigns, and paid creator initiatives.
  • Build performance reporting frameworks covering spend, ROI, revenue contribution, attribution, and forecasting.
  • Monitor key business metrics such as blended MER, contribution margin, paid revenue targets, and lead conversion performance.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, lifecycle marketing, creative, and sales teams to ensure paid campaigns support broader business priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for experimentation, process improvements, and scalable growth initiatives.
  • Provide leadership visibility into paid media performance, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced paid acquisition professional with a strong track record of managing performance marketing programs, optimizing advertising investments, and driving measurable growth. This role requires a combination of analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution skills.

  • 5-8+ years of experience in paid media, performance marketing, or digital acquisition roles.
  • Deep expertise in Google Ads and Meta Ads, including campaign strategy, optimization, scaling, and performance analysis.
  • Proven experience managing external agencies and holding partners accountable for results.
  • Strong analytical and financial mindset with the ability to evaluate performance through revenue and efficiency metrics.
  • Experience owning paid media budgets and making data-driven investment decisions.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on campaign execution.
  • Experience developing testing frameworks, analyzing results, and making scale-or-stop decisions.
  • Strong understanding of attribution, tracking, reporting, and marketing performance measurement.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across marketing, creative, sales, and operational teams.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with high ownership and accountability.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience transitioning paid media operations from agency-managed to in-house execution.
  • Background in high-average-order-value ecommerce, retail, or B2B-adjacent businesses.
  • Experience with Shopify-based ecommerce environments.
  • Experience in industries involving considered purchases, equipment, hospitality, or specialty products.
  • Experience expanding paid acquisition into new channels and testing emerging growth opportunities.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work environment with the flexibility to work from home.
  • Flexible schedule designed to support productivity and work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to take ownership of a critical growth function and directly influence business performance.
  • High-impact role with visibility across multiple teams and strategic initiatives.
  • Opportunity to build and scale a best-in-class paid media function.
  • Join an international and collaborative team working in a growing global market.
  • Career growth opportunities within a fast-moving organization.
  • Work on meaningful products with long consideration cycles and strong customer engagement.
