Job description

Machine Shop Production Supervisor
L.E. Jones Company L.L.C., leading manufacturer of precision valve seat inserts and is seeking candidates for a Machine Shop Production Supervisor, third shift. LE Jones offers a competitive compensation package based on qualifications and experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for the production of quality castings necessary to manufacture product meeting customer specifications in an efficient, cost effective and timely manner. Provide leadership and direction to the production workforce ensuring the work performed is done in a safe and efficient manner.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
  • Administer the weekly production schedules in timely amp; efficient manner
  • Evaluate workforce levels and make adjustments as necessary to accommodate the efficient administration of the weekly production schedules
  • Schedule overtime in departments where needed
  • Direct and assign bargaining unit employees in the production of valve seat inserts
  • Provide training and instruction to new and existing employees.
  • Understand and administer labor contract
  • Understand and enforce company policies
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment and relationship
  • Monitor scrap and work with Quality department personnel to meet company goals
  • Assist Engineering and Quality personnel on implementing new production and quality methods and the expediting of sample/experimental jobs
  • Assist with implementation of L.E. Jones Company Quality and Environmental certification programs
  • Actively support L.E. Jones Company continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work with maintenance department to maintain and repair equipment and support L.E. Jones Company preventative maintenance program
  • Supervise monthly and year-end inventory as needed
  • Respond to contingencies
  • Schedule overtime when needed
  • Assist in developing new methods
  • Improve productivity
  • Keep a productive working atmosphere and relationship
  • Serve as primary contact to workforce
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 3 years of supervisory experience preferred, excellent organizational skills, Microsoft Office Skills, able to maintain a cooperative working relationship with management, peers, and subordinates; and a basic knowledge of foundry and machining practice.
