KLZ Attendant/Mold Cleaner/Set Up (2pm-10pm)

Schedule: 2nd shift (Monday to Friday from 2pm to 10pm) - 8 hour shifts

Essential Functions:

  1. Performs service functions in the KLZ press room which include receipt and storage of incoming materials.
  2. Issues molds, materials, and accessory equipment to press operators.
  3. Cooperates and provides supervisor with information on press capacities, mold changes and molding problems related to order completion.
  4. Receives and stores mold blanks.
  5. Prepares and maintains data cards for all molds.
  6. Assembles molds, materials and accessory equipment and delivers to press room and press operators.
  7. Returns molds from production to mold cleaning areas.
  8. Installs molds in presses.
  9. Keeps operators supplied with blanks as needed.
  10. Cleans KLZ Press Room related molds.
  11. Performs duties that include, but are not limited to, the following: transporting molds from press lines to cleaning area, disassembling molds, loading mold sections into cleaning machinery, activating controls, cycling molds through units or manually cleaning molds with hand held shot blast apparatus, unloading molds from cleaning units, reassembling molds, and sending molds back to storage or press lines.
  12. Works with Press Operators to assure that dirty molds are properly pulled out of service for cleaning and properly returned to lines for resumption of production on a timely basis.
  13. Loads all cleaning ingredients into machinery and, when necessary, unloads all generated residue and process waste.
  14. Gives special attention when molds are reassembled after cleaning to assure correct alignment of all cavities, plates, and pins.
  15. Performs visual inspections to assure that molds are properly cleaned and reassembled before sending out for further use.
  16. Stocks completed molds back into racks in proper mold storage locations.
  17. Sand blasts other products to remove surface rust.
  18. Sets press cure cycles, adjusts bumping mechanisms, press temperatures and pressure.
  19. Removes mold from press upon completion of order and installs replacement utilizing various mold handing equipment.
  20. Inspects molds as removed from production; determines cleaning requirements; oils and returns to storage those molds that do not require cleaning.
  21. Informs Supervisor of molds that do not have full utilization and those requiring major repair.
  22. Checks in all new molds, assigns storage location, stamps identification numbers on molds.
  23. Installs strip molds in Robas press and aids operator in changing regular molds.

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Separates and dips blanks.
  2. Drives tow motor.
  3. Keeps work area clean.
  4. Performs other jobs as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Specifications: Knowledge of materials, molds and press room operations in general is mandatory.
