  • Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
  • Design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for military and industrial purposes
  • Serve as the senior integrator and recognized subject matter expert
  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
  • Develop new principles, concepts, and advanced technological ideas
  • Solve unusually complex technical problems with highly innovative solutions
  • Guide advanced technological ideas through development into final products
  • Work under consultative direction toward long‑range goals and objectives
  • Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results
  • Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs
  • Advise management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications
  • Integrate IPS component subsystems into one system and ensure subsystem interoperability
  • Provide oversight to HII‑managed subsystems
  • Ensure subsystem interface requirements are understood and met across design teams and vendors
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers across disciplines
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 14 years of experience, or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 12 years of experience, or PhD in Engineering from an ABET accredited university and 10 years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Professional-level expertise regarding Power System Shipyard Interface
  • Technical expertise in Electric Plant/IPS Control System, Electrical Distribution System, and Diesel Generator Sets
  • Ability to develop or assist with Electrical Power Load Analysis, Electrical One-Line Diagram, Power Load Analysis, Power Voltage Drop, Transient Analysis, IPS system CONOPS, test procedures, LBTS/LBES, vendor procurement and test plans, drawings, and technical manuals
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and direction to engineers across disciplines
  • Ability to provide professional technical mentoring to other engineers
  • Willingness to travel 10%-25% of the time
