Job description

WHAT IS TEKNIPLEX? 

 TekniPlex Healthcare is a respected business partner that specializes in the manufacturing of medical and pharmaceutical packaging for companies around the world. We aim to deliver better patient outcomes by manufacturing products that allow for less invasive procedures, reduced pain, faster healing, and safer drug delivery. We are currently hiring for a split shift (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) teammate in our Shipping and Receiving Department, located in Madison, WI.

JOB SUMMARY 

Working within established guidelines, the Shipping/Receiving clerk will prepare, review, and track packages and complete documents related to shipping and receiving products. This involves strong coordination between and direct contact with carriers, customer service, and production team members.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Prepares finished product to ship according to customer requirements 
  • Stages product 
  • Receives and assembles bills of landing, checks against orders, reports shortages and incomplete orders, making changes as necessary 
  • Greets truck drivers and loads trucks for shipment 
  • Operates forklift as needed 
  • Receives incoming supplies and prepares receivers (written and computer), checking for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defect; checking inventory levels and communicating with purchasing to ensure proper safety stock 
  • Utilizes the company computer program and PC software to develop, maintain and generate effective reporting systems that relate to the job function 
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion and distribution of all shipping and receiving documentation 
  • Maintains strong communication with supply chain team, customer service, production and truck drivers, and facilitates any necessary follow-up to ensure smooth movement of goods 
  • Weekly/Monthly inventory of limited supplies, including cycle counts  
  • Follows and participates in plant safety/housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment 
  • Other duties as assigned   

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 2-5 years Fork Truck Experience  
  • Basic knowledge of truck capacities, warehouse flow and production process environment (1st in/1st out) location system knowledge preferred 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Microsoft Suite knowledge  

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete timecards and work orders.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization.  Ability to effective present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
