Job description

Alaska Gear Company is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support our busy Fairbanks operation during the winter season. If you enjoy staying organized, working behind the scenes to keep operations running smoothly, and being part of a hardworking team, we'd love to hear from you.

This position is approximately 30+ hours per week through March.

What You'll Do

As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring customer orders, inventory, and shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare, pack, and ship customer orders accurately and on time
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against packing slips
  • Inspect shipments for damage and report discrepancies
  • Label, organize, and stock incoming merchandise
  • Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records
  • Assist with inventory counts and warehouse organization
  • Coordinate with sales staff to ensure timely order fulfillment
  • Operate shipping software and prepare shipping documentation
  • Keep shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Follow company safety procedures and operational guidelines
