Job Title: Shipper

Job Description

This Shipper position in Warwick, RI focuses on accurately preparing, packaging, and coordinating outgoing shipments to ensure products reach customers on time and in excellent condition. You will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, support inventory control, and use shipping tools and equipment to maintain efficient and compliant shipping operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and package products for shipment according to established company standards and procedures.
  • Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy, including product type, quantity, and destination, and record all details in the appropriate systems.
  • Coordinate with carriers, schedule pickups, and ensure shipments leave the facility on time.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation for all outgoing orders.
  • Inspect shipments for accuracy, quality, and proper packaging before release.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock control, including counting, organizing, and replenishing materials as needed.
  • Use RF scanners and other shipping tools to pick, track, and process orders.
  • Handle materials safely using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks when required and authorized.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and shipping regulations while performing daily tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve shipping issues and support smooth warehouse operations.
  • Support general warehouse duties as needed, including material handling and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including picking and material handling.
  • Proficiency using RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely, where required and permitted.
  • Proficiency with shipping software and tools to process and track outgoing orders.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy packages and objects as required by the role.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with carriers, team members, and other departments.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

  • Previous experience as a machine operator or in a similar production role.
  • Knowledge of basic machine operation and routine maintenance practices.

Work Environment

This role operates in a fast-paced warehouse environment within a first-shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position is temporary with the potential for extension, offering consistent daytime hours in a production-focused setting, including work in an extrusion department. You will frequently stand for extended periods, move throughout the facility, and lift heavy packages or materials as part of daily tasks. The work involves regular use of RF scanners, shipping software, and material-handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, following established safety protocols. The environment emphasizes safe work practices, efficient material flow, and teamwork to meet shipping deadlines and maintain smooth warehouse operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warwick, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
