The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling the logistics of incoming and outgoing shipments. The role involves accurate recording of inventory, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that products reach their destinations on time and in optimal condition. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities:


Prepare shipping documents, including packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
Ensure accurate and timely packaging of products for shipment.
Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
Record received items into the inventory system and reconcile with purchase orders.
Communicate discrepancies or damages to the appropriate departments.
Maintain organized and efficient storage of products in the warehouse.
Conduct regular cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
Assist in periodic physical inventory audits.
Generate and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
File and organize shipping and receiving documentation for easy retrieval.
Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve shipping and receiving issues.
Provide timely updates on shipment statuses to relevant stakeholders.
Ensure that all products meet quality standards before shipping.
Implement and enforce quality control procedures for incoming shipments.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines in all shipping and receiving activities.
Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and guidelines.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk or in a similar role is prefered but not required.
Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including use of shipping software, is prefered but not required.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
