We're Hiring: Weekend Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Specialist


Looking for a full-time opportunity that gives you four days off each week? Join Kato Cable's weekend team!

In this hands-on role, you will:

Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials
Prepare project kits for production
Package and ship customer orders
Maintain accurate inventory and ERP records
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
Support cycle counts, quality checks, and warehouse organization


We're looking for someone who works safely, takes pride in accuracy, adapts to changing priorities, and enjoys being part of a collaborative manufacturing team.


Prior shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, or ERP experience is preferred-but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are just as important.


Location: Mankato, MN
Schedule: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour (plus shift differential)

Requirements

 JOB PURPOSE: The Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Specialist is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, storing, kitting, and shipping materials in support of production and customer requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring on-time material availability, and upholding Kato Cable's safety and ISO quality standards. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, unpack, inspect, and document incoming materials; identify and report discrepancies or damage.
  • Accurately record material transactions in the ERP system, including receipts, transfers, issues, and shipments.
  • Perform project kitting.
  • Box orders and prepare shipments using appropriate packaging, spacers, fillers, labels, and documentation per customer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records to support operational needs.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, Aerial lift and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform quality assurance checks as required.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in alignment with Kato Cable's housekeeping standards.
  • Support inventory cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
  • Assist with special projects or process improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


All duties must be performed in compliance with Kato Cable safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and ISO quality requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience, Competencies and Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Basic computer skills, including data entry and email.

Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, labels, and basic drawings.

Ability to perform basic calculations related to counts, weights, and measurements.

Ability to identify and escalate in-process problems, manage changing priorities, and work independently with minimal supervision.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ year experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations.
  • Experience with inventory control processes.
  • Prior experience using an ERP system.
