Job description

Shipping and Receiving clerks are responsible for picking orders, packing, labeling, shipping, receiving, cycle counting and performing other warehouse and shipping duties by following established operating procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Pick parts/products from appropriate inventory locations in specific quantities as listed on a Pick List.
  • Label cartons/skids in accordance with established procedures to meet customer or other requirements.
  • Prepare shipments for transit by using protective corners, strapping, shrink wrapping and applying identification tags or labels.
  • Prepare products, parts, returns and other items for shipment by packaging, crating, boxing, wrapping, strapping and labeling.
  • Cycle count inventory and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems.
  • Operate lift trucks or other hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials and products to proper departments or areas.
  • Identify and move received product to designated areas.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Maintain the work, the dock area and the equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow instructed safety regulations.
  • Inspect freight and shipments upon arrival, document and report any signs of damage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Safety requirements knowledge and use of safety glasses, shoes and gloves as necessary.
  • Basic math skills to count, add, subtract, multiply and basic use of calculators.
  • Must be able to work under different weather conditions and fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to interact and work well with others.
