Job description

The Shipping Administrator verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment and provides administrative support by performing the following duties:
  • Purchase Order Management for daily and weekly incoming deliveries/outgoing shipment forecast.
  • Prepares all paperwork associated with product shipments, including printing bills of lading, pick lists and shipping records.
  • Coordinate method of shipment, for example, LTL, hotshot, etc. and onsite execution of loading.
  • Produces daily shipping log for daily leadership meetings.
  • Perform inspections and designate hold points of truckloads for content, accuracy of order and quality compliance.
  • Maintains shipping and other traffic related files.
  • Monitors and performs check-in inbound and outbound truck activity, yard management and materials management, including inventory checks.
  • Process and receive products into software systems RF Smart and JDE.
  • Performs other work as instructed by department manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
2. Must be able to have effective written and oral communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of employees, both verbally and in writing.
3. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to speak effectively before groups of managers or employees of organization.
4. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to compute rate, ratio and percent.
5. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
6.Must be able to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software, Manufacturing software, ERP experience is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
7. Must have robust organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
8. Must be able to effectively multitask, and balance priorities in a dynamic environment.
9. Must have great attention to detail.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
