QuickCable – Shipping Clerk

Do you have strong communication skills? Would you like to work for a company that you can grow in? Then this job may be for you! QuickCable is looking for a Shipping Clerk to join their team! If you have at least one year in a similar role, look over the details and consider applying!

Job Function:

  • Checks shipments for conformance to customer requirements.
  • Checks shipments to ensure that boxes, containers or skids are stable and properly sealed for shipment.
  • Respond to written correspondence by email, fax or phone
  • Confer and correspond with staff to resolve issues related to shipments
  • Prepare documents such as bills of lading and shipping orders to route shipments
  • Timely packing, shipment and invoice processing for customer orders, including related shop floor or shipping documentation.
  • Transact shipments in defined shipments carrier portals
  • Checks shipments for proper documentation and labeling.
  • Select proper mode of transportation from UPS, Fedex or DHL, using computer software, to meet delivery requirements at the lowest cost.
  • Ensure all required shipping documents are included with the shipping paperwork prior to filing.
  • Communicate any shipping discrepancies to customer service, and sales.
  • Create labels for outgoing outside processors (OSP) shipments.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packages using the shipping programs.
  • Enters shipping transactions on TCM as required.
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations.
  • Reports unsafe acts to the supervisor.
  • Cleans and maintains inventory storage areas.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of warehouse clerical experience required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must successfully complete forklift operator training
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight and length measurement
  • Ability to accurately read and comprehend instructions, packing lists, and purchase orders. Ability to complete written forms and simple correspondence
  • Ability to use shipping programs and interpret rate tables
  • Outbound Shipping - Should know UPS or FedEx software
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand in one position for a long period of time
Hours: 6:00 am to 2:30pm M-F
