Job description

Material Handler

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution. Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain a safe forklift driving record
  • Safely load/unload NCS parts and materials throughout the factory
  • Complete forklift inspections to monitor the maintenance needs; communicate maintenance issues on a timely basis to your supervisor
  • Use a daily replenishment report to restock bins with parts used in our parts shipping warehouse
  • Follow a cycle count program to help keep an accurate inventory at all times
  • Responsible for activities related to picking, packing, auditing and shipping
  • Accurately match necessary paperwork for shipments
  • Assist others on the team with looking for items that are missing or possibly misplaced
  • Empty scrap in proper locations
  • Pull materials and in-process assembled and fabricated parts/materials in and out of inventory for use on department work orders, placing items into inventory and updating computer records
  • Responsible for accurately posting transactions when moving product
  • Maintaining adequate inventory levels in warehouse, cells or work area
  • Assist with the organization and good housekeeping of the NCS facility
  • Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift driving experience (Forklift, pallet jacks, work assist vehicle) 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to interact well with customers, vendors, and fellow employees
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • MRP System and scanner experience, preferred
  • Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift light to medium weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, sometimes during inclement weather conditions
  • May stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations
  • May sit for prolonged periods of time
