Job description

The Material Handling Technician is responsible for shipping and receiving activities along with facility maintenance and inventory as related to branch requirements. 

Key position functions include:

  • Contact transport companies to setup outgoing shipments and handle applicable paperwork
  • Perform hotshot services to location as required
  • Pick and distribute material for storage or shipping
  • Ship and receive products and equipment
  • Load/unload trucks with forklift and/or crane
  • Organize and maintain the work area, including maintenance of equipment, product storage containers and racking
  • Manage inventory by stocking incoming transferred items
  • Perform regular cycle counts of new stock
  • Paint products as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

  • High School Diploma, supplemented with related two years of gate valve or wellhead assembly or rebuilding experience preferred
  • Mechanical assembly/repair experience
  • Forklift experience an asset
  • Computer skills an asset
  • Knowledge of Stream-Flo and/or competitors equipment would be an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, good work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills
  • Detail oriented, strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Valid driver’s license
