Job description

The shipper/receiver is responsible for ensuring efficient operation of the shipping and receiving department. This position will have an ability to safely operate various handheld tools as well as operate a forklift.

This position must have an acute attention to detail with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Summary

  • Fulfill all orders within a timely manner minimizing shipping errors

  • Prepare shipping schedules and verify accuracy of all incoming and outgoing shipments

  • Be a point of contact for customers, resolving any discrepancies and concerns

  • Liaise with 3rd party trucking companies for shipment

  • Inspect and document damaged product and discrepancies for reconciliation

  • Apply labels to product before shipment

  • Maintain documentation of all inbound and outbound shipment

  • An ability to utilize a forklift and perform inspections

  • Ensure warehouse cleanliness daily

  • Inspect all product and communicate to management of any inconsistencies

  • Move items to appropriate areas

  • Support other departments as needed

  • Always adhere to company safety policies

  • Ensure all health and safety guidelines are being followed

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience

  • Must possess a valid forklift ticket

  • Aptitude for problem solving

  • An ability to remain focused and efficient while working within tight deadlines

  • An ability to resolve issues in high pressure situations

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • An ability to lift 10 lbs. or more

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

  • High level of integrity and work ethic

  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • An ability to work with minimal supervision
