Job description

Job purpose
The Shipping & Receiving / Warehouse role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting shipping and receiving operations, and ensuring efficient material flow throughout the warehouse and production environment. This position plays a critical role in inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, production support, and outbound delivery coordination while maintaining safety, organization, and compliance with company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Accuracy
  • Perform daily inventory counts, cycle counts, and assist with full physical inventories.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in EPICOR and support documentation.
  • Tracks slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and report findings to leadership.
  • Generate inventory reports (daily, weekly, monthly) as required.
  • Ensure accurate BOM consumption, backflushing, scrap reporting, and material returns.
  • Maintain organized storage locations and inventory labelling standards.
Shipping & Receiving Operations
  • Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, inspect for damage, and process paperwork.
  • Track inbound and outbound shipments and ensure proper documentation.
  • Prepare, package, and ship orders using UPS, FedEx, USPS, and freight carriers.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, shipping addresses, and carrier requirements.
  • Organize shipping supplies, materials, and work areas to maintain efficiency.
Warehouse & Production Support
  • Pull, stage, kit, and move materials to support production schedules and workflows.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production, and customer service to ensure material availability.
  • Assist with assembly, packaging, and preparation of products for shipment or delivery as needed.
  • Move products throughout the facility to support proper material flow.

Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping/receiving, or related roles.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred (EPICOR a plus).
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new tasks.

Working conditions
  • Warehouse, fabrication, and production environment.
  • Regular exposure to forklifts, pallets, machinery, and shipping equipment.
  • Occasional outdoor exposure during deliveries or loading activities.
  • Overtime or weekend work may be required during inventory counts or peak periods.
