Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties. Load trucks for outgoing shipments. To provide business office clerical assistance by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Unload incoming materials and verify against packing lists.
  • Record received materials in the MRP system.
  • Mark materials with identifying information and open containers.
  • Transport materials to production or storage areas.
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins by size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Deliver receiving paperwork to Accounts Payable.
  • Maintain inventory records and prepare shipping paperwork.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and distribute to production.
  • Assemble customer orders and prepare for shipping.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing and load products for shipping.
  • Expedite delivery of goods and occasionally inspect purchased materials.
  • Promote a safe workplace.
  • Review shipments and pull prints and drawings.
  • Accurately read tape measures.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Six months of experience in shipping/warehouse.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including email and MS Office.
  • Ability to read and write simple correspondence.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Common sense reasoning and problem-solving.
  • Positive attitude and self-directed work ethic.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Use of hands for handling objects and controls.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to talk and hear for effective communication.
  • Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Frequent outdoor work.
  • Occasional exposure to moving parts, high places, fumes, and loud noise.
