Experienced Warehouse Associate - Shipping (1st Shift)

Location: New Berlin, WI | 1st Shift: Monday-Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM

Starting Pay: $20.50-$21.00/hour (based on experience)

American Bolt Corporation, a family-owned industry leader in fastener distribution, is looking for an experienced and reliable Warehouse Associate to join our 1st shift team with a home base in Shipping/Order Fill. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Tactically:

  • Coordinate and perform order fill and packaging with RFQ scanners, inspection, and route assembly activities daily.
  • Inspect products for accuracy using bolt gauges.
  • Assign routes, check-in with drivers, load vehicles when needed. Review outbound orders, make notes for drivers, ensure driver's have what they need for daily routes.
  • Complete 3rd party outgoing shipment/truckline coordination daily.
  • Collaborate with Leads/Trainers/Warehouse Supervisors to understand the workload and schedules to manage the shift throughout the day. Attend morning Lead huddles and offer input.
  • Stay on track with order filling or shipping priorities, check for new/updated orders throughout the day.
  • Check the internal database periodically to stay up-to-date on orders.
  • Submit PPO paperwork and other paperwork to appropriate departments, timely.
  • Assist with training/re-training 1st shift shipping team.
  • Complete opening warehouse procedures.
  • Actively communicate with sales and other peers regarding order issues and general questions.
  • Follow all policies, safety guidelines, and warehouse procedures.

Professionally:

  • Comfortable offering positive or improvement feedback to warehouse associates and floats, promptly.
  • Punctuality - be on time for meetings, manage your email inbox and calendar, respond to emails and chats quickly and professionally.
  • Offer professional input to the Warehouse Supervisors for 30, 90, and semi-annual review cycles for 1st shift employees.
  • Set a positive example for attending company events and employee involvement. Encourage employees to be involved.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience in warehouse shipping, receiving, and/or order filling.
  • Forklift experience required (sit down, stand up, scissors lift preferred).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
