Job description

The Shipping Associate is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping products.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area for pickup.
  • Coordinate with all departments to fulfill specific and ongoing inventory and shipping needs
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, packing area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Document any necessary updates to process and aid in inventory management
  • Work in other areas as appropriate to maintain knowledge and relationships necessary for efficient and effective operation.
  • Pack and ship items securely and effectively to minimize breakage.
  • Build and wrap pallets for secure shipment with freight carriers.
  • Fill all customer orders with accuracy and timeliness. Pack sold items properly and ship in a timely basis per policy.
  • Ensure that incoming and outgoing inventory and shipments are as secure and well-organized as possible.
  • Experience with loading and unloading products on and off a 53-foot dry vans.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
  • Previous warehouse experience, preferably in Shipping or Receiving.
  • Experience with inventory software, RF handhelds, working at heights, and stand-up forklift experience (preferred, not required).
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • 2-3 years sit-down forklift experience.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

The temperature inside a warehouse can vary. Some warehouses are climate-controlled, while others may not be.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee will frequently lift on average 20-30lbs throughout the course of 1 business day. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment can be considered quite loud in certain working environments.
