Job Summary:ย 

The Shipping Associateย is responsible forย processing and preparing orders for shipment to satisfy the needs of customers.ย 

Duties/Responsibilities:ย 

  • Responsible for theย logisticsย of customersโ€™ orders:ย i.e.ย stocking, picking, and packing.ย 

  • Performing deliveries in company van to drop orders off.ย 

  • Use of Customer portals to execute shipments.ย 

  • Use of theย shippingย programsย to schedule both shipments.ย 

  • Picks customer orders as requested for shipment, while following customer requirements.ย 

  • Track outgoing products to help keepย an accurateย running inventory.ย 

  • Responsible for ensuring that all inventory for resale asย requiredย isย identifiedย and traceable from receipt and acceptance through delivery to the customer.ย 

  • Operating a forklift to load and unload material as needed is a safe manner.ย 

  • Responsible for reporting any discrepancies to supervisor so they can be investigated.ย 

  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of the warehouse to promote safety byย complying withย procedures, rules, and regulations.ย 

  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements as needed.ย 

  • Contributes to team effort byย accomplishingย related results as needed.ย 

  • Assistย inย determining, along with senior management, where improvements areย requiredย and recommending corrective action when necessary.ย 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.ย 

Required Skills/Abilities:ย ย 

  • Thorough understanding of shipping policies and procedures.ย 

  • Willย beย requiredย to pass a forklift training course.ย 

  • Must be able toย operateย a scanner gun.ย 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.ย 

  • Excellent time management skills.ย 

  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word,ย Outlookย and Excel.ย 

  • Must beย ableย to drive a cargo van as neededย 

  • Must have valid Driverโ€™sย 

Education and Experience:ย 

  • GED or High School Diploma preferred.ย 

  • Experience in a manufacturing shipping environment preferred.ย 

  • Hand scanner gun experience preferred.ย 

  • Experienceย utilizingย a forklift is a plus.ย 

Physical Requirements:ย 

While performing the duties of this job, the employeeย is regularly required toย stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, and talk toย hear.ย 

The employeeย frequentlyย is required toย sit and walk. The employeeย is occasionally required toย bend and stop,ย pushย and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up toย 50ย pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.ย 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.ย ย
